There’s something so unique about sharing and swapping a traveling journal with different people all over the world. A little bit of paper, a few stickers, some questionable handwriting, and suddenly you have a time capsule filled with pieces of the people you love.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal is all about passing a journal from one sister to the next, with each person adding their own little corner of creativity before sending it along. No two pages have to look alike, and that’s half the fun.

2. Trinket Tray 🧺✨

This spread is for all the tiny things you can't throw away because they mean something.

Create your very own Trinket Tray by adding little paper pockets, envelopes, or a "tray" for tiny treasures. Think ticket stubs, pressed flowers, receipts from a favorite coffee shop, a tiny photo, a postage stamp, a fortune from a cookie, a paperclip, or a handwritten note.

You can even add a little explanation about why each trinket is special.

The best part? Your trinkets don't have to be valuable. Sometimes the most ordinary little things become the sweetest memories.

Of course, we couldn't have a traveling journal without a little mail-inspired magic!

For the Mail Club spread, create a page dedicated to all things snail mail. Decorate it with envelopes, stamps, postage stickers, tiny letters, or your favorite stationery.

You could write about your favorite person to send mail to, your favorite thing you've ever received in the mail, or simply create a mini envelope where the next sister can leave a secret note.

Because this journal itself is traveling through the mail, this spread feels like a little love letter to the entire idea behind the project. In a world where most of our conversations happen through screens, there is something pretty magical about opening your mailbox and finding something that someone took the time to create just for you.

4. Sisterhood CD Album 🎶💿

Let's bring back the mixtape!

The Sisterhood CD Album is a playlist in paper form. Create a little imaginary CD cover and fill the page with the songs that currently feel like the soundtrack to your life.

Choose songs that make you dance in the kitchen, cry dramatically in the car, scream the lyrics with your best friends, or remind you of a particular person or season of your life.

You could include:

• Your current favorite song
• A song that reminds you of childhood
• Your ultimate sing-in-the-car song
• A song that reminds you of your best friend

I chose to put extra CDS in the fold out Album for each girl to make there own CD mixtape. 

Then pass the journal along and let the next sister add her own soundtrack.

By the end, you'll have a musical time capsule made up of everyone's lives.

5. Things I Do to Fill My Cup ☕🌸

This one is all about you.

Life can get busy, and sometimes we forget to make time for the little things that make us feel like ourselves again. The Things I Do to Fill My Cup spread is a place to document all the little rituals, hobbies, people, and moments that bring you back to center.

Maybe it's getting coffee and wandering around Target. Maybe it's reading for an hour, taking a long shower, going for a drive, baking something, calling your best friend, sitting outside with a book, painting your nails, going to the beach, or putting your phone on Do Not Disturb and disappearing for the evening.

Make a cutout cup and add insert sticks or paper so each girl can fill the cup. 

And here's your reminder: drink water

Sometimes filling your cup means doing something productive. Sometimes it means doing absolutely nothing.

The beauty of these journal spreads is that you don't need a craft room overflowing with supplies. Keep it simple and make it yours!

1. Scrap & Cute Papers

Patterned paper, scrapbook scraps, old stationery, wrapping paper, magazine pieces—anything cute that catches your eye.

2. Scissors ✂️

For trimming paper, cutting out little shapes, and inevitably cutting something crooked and deciding it's “intentional.”

3. Glue

A glue stick is perfect for attaching your paper pieces and creating your little collages.

4. Journal 📖

The most important ingredient! Choose something that can handle a little decorating and, more importantly, a lot of traveling.

5. Stickers 🌼

Because no journal page is ever truly finished without a few stickers. Flowers, bows, postage stamps, letters, stars, smiley faces—whatever makes you happy.

Don't worry about making your pages perfect.
